MEET DANA SCHULTZ

Dana Schultz brings more than 26 years of public service experience and proven financial leadership to her campaign for Orange County Treasurer-Tax Collector.

From 2023 to 2026, Dana led the operations of the Orange County Treasurer-Tax-Collector’s Office, overseeing a $17 million department responsible for investing and safeguarding approximately $15–18 billion in public funds. The office serves as banker for local agencies and school districts and administers nearly $10 billion in annual property tax collections.

As Assistant Treasurer-Tax-Collector, Dana provided executive oversight of treasury operations, investments, tax collection services, budgeting, contracts, information technology, and human resources. She successfully modernized key systems — upgrading outdated call center technology and replacing the County’s property tax payment processing platform to improve reliability, efficiency, and service to taxpayers.

In 2026, Dana was appointed Chief Investment Officer within the County Executive Office, where she continues to oversee the investment and reinvestment of County and school funds. She provides reporting to the Investment Oversight Committee and ensures strong compliance, investment accounting, and cash flow management across the Orange County Treasury Pool.

Previously, Dana served as Administrative and Fiscal Division Director for the Orange County Probation Department, managing a $205 million budget and supporting more than 1,000 employees. She also held senior leadership roles in the County Executive Office’s Budget and Finance Office and the Health Care Agency, managing complex public budgets and strategic financial planning initiatives.

Dana earned the CSAC Executive Credential through the California State Association of Counties and has been active with the California Association of County Treasurers and Tax Collectors.

A third-generation County employee, Dana proudly continues a family tradition of public service spanning more than 80 years.

Dana Schultz is committed to transparency, fiscal responsibility, responsible investment practices, and protecting every taxpayer dollar entrusted to Orange County.
